The Minnesota Recreation and Park Foundation (MRPF) was established in 1973 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) public charity in 1974. It is the only non-profit organization in Minnesota solely dedicated to promoting excellence in the park and recreation profession.   

The MRPF is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Minnesota by supporting recreation and parks through education, networking opportunities, programming grants, student and professional continuing education scholarships, and providing support to the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association.

Topgolf Social and Mini Fundraiser

MRPF is hosting a social at Topgolf! Join us for a fun night out at the new Topgolf in Woodbury. Whether you want to play or just watch, come enjoy good company and a beverage.

  • Minnesota Recreation and Park Foundation (MRPF) will cover the bay costs, just show up and join the fun! 
  • Food and beverage will be on your own. 
  • In the spirit of supporting scholarships and opportunities across Minnesota, freewill donations will be accepted during the event. Give what you can, some may cover their own spot, some may help cover the bay. Every bit supports the work.


New Initiative Grant Program:

UP TO $4,000 IS AVAILABLE PER GRANT

The Minnesota Recreation and Park Foundation New Initiative Grant Program, is intended to spur innovation in parks and recreation services at a local, regional, or state-wide level that ultimately could have state-wide impact.

What is eligible for funding?

Grant funding is available for programs and services that demonstrate innovation in parks and recreation services for the agency submitting the grant application, with future applicability for other agencies at a local, regional, or state-wide level. Applications that are innovative to the field of Parks and Recreation as a whole are desired. New or innovative programs that are specific to a city will also be considered.

What is excluded?

Capital improvements like buildings and structures, funding for existing programs and services, on-going expenses and costs incurred prior to the award of the grant are not eligible.

Student Scholarship Program:

The MRPF Student Scholarship Program is made possible through the Minnesota Recreation and Park Foundation scholarship partner program.  The MRPF scholarship program has been created to promote and enable excellence in the field of park and recreation by providing financial assistance to juniors, seniors and graduate students who are majoring in a Minnesota four-year curriculum with a park and recreation emphasis and display excellence in their abilities, leadership qualities, job experience and commitment to the park and recreation field.
