Help Keep Youth Sports Safe and Benefit Financially!

Minnesota Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) and Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) have partnered together to offer the Trusted Coaches Membership Program (TC).

The program cost is $35 per coach, with volume discounts available. As an incentive to MRPA and its agencies, MYAS will provide a $5 rebate per registered coach to MRPA as a marketing partner. In turn, MRPA will reimburse participating agencies $2/coach registered from that community.

This comprehensive online program includes four components essential for a youth coach. Upon completion, a coach will receive a Trusted Coaches membership card that is valid for three years:

  • Nationwide Criminal Background Check
  • Concussion Instruction
  • First Aid Training Online
  • Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach®character Education Course

This incentive applies for those who directly manage youth programs and also for those who refer this program to their city’s athletic associations. Please share this information or work with your local athletic association to see if they are interested in participating. For the participating agency to receive credit, users must select Minnesota as the state parks and recreation association, and enter the local / city / county parks and recreation agency.

You may have heard about this program, and thought that it didn’t apply to you. The 100+ youth sports organizations listed in the link below are currently participating in the program. Had your parks and recreation department/athletic association selected Minnesota as the state parks and recreation association, you would have received credit as a referral partner.

Please do not hesitate to contact Dawson Blanck (dawson@trustedcoaches.org) with any questions you have regarding this option for coach development and risk management. We look forward to working with our members and MYAS on this program. Please contact MRPA’s Deb Weinreis with any partnership questions at weinreis@mnrpa.org or 763.571.1305 x106. Thank you!
