Communications Plan

Click here to view the 2005 Communications Plan

The purpose of the Communication Plan is to enhance the mission of MRPA by promoting effective, accurate, timely exchanges of information among the Association's diverse audiences. This plan is a sustainable tool intended to use through changes in personnel comprising of Board members, Sections, Committees, Staff and Members. The Communication Committee provides recommendations to the Board of Directors annually for addressing each of the focal points in the Communication Plan.

Annually the Communication Committee writes a Communication Plan that outlines specific goals which focuses on six points:

1. Information: Providing members and interested parties information about parks, recreation and leisure services in Minnesota.

2. Teamwork: Fostering teamwork and promoting harmony amongst Association members, staff, section and committees, and Board of Directors

3. Feedback: Providing methods for meaningful feedback from the Association membership, its customers, affiliates and sponsors.

4. Technology: Utilizing the technology available to manage and distribute information to the Associations; members, its customers, affiliate and sponsors.

5. Partnerships: Fostering partnerships with other associations and agencies that have a common mission with MRPA and the advancement of the parks, recreation and leisure services industry.

6. Advocacy: Advocating for the quality of life achieved through parks, recreation and leisure services

Each Section/Committee Chair is a member of this Committee and sent an agenda for each meeting. They can ask a representative from their Committee/Section to attend the meetings if they are unable. The Committee generally meets at the Annual Conference, and then a few times throughout the year as the Communication Plan warrants.
